      MUSIC

"I worked with Daysun on "Wordsville" for TVOkids and PBS Thirteen. He was a joy to work with and brought so much creativity and ingenuity to the project. "Wordsville" is a detective procedural for kids and Daysun blended levity and fun with mystery and intrigue to create a unique soundscape for the show. We had a very intense post schedule and Daysun delivered on time and on budget for all of our 33 episodes. I hope we get to work together again soon!"

PROJECTS

“Daysun is a highly creative composer and a very versatile musician. His song “Time & Distance” added a provocative dimension to our story which was about our subject who had an undetermined number of days to live. There were numerous story cues we needed to cover; motorcycle racing and crashing, large mural paintings, a photography exhibition and several poetry reads. Dason covered it all and then some. He also added background drones and mood cues that really added to the drama.

It was exciting working with him and I’m convinced that his score helped the movie win Best Feature Documentary at the TOindie Festival.”

DAYSUN recently scored the 33-episode series Wordsville for TVO/PBS, where he composed energetic horn sections and delivered a score that combined funky R&B bounces with mysterious tones and textures. Additionally DAYSUN was asked to score the documentary Hard to Kill, directed by Mansel James and Produced by Sari Friedland (Blindness, Enemy). Hard to Kill is about a brain cancer survivor and vintage motorcycle racer. The film won the “Best Documentary Feature” award at the Toronto Independent Film Festival. DAYSUN’s score incorporated propulsive rock tracks paired with ambient passages that perfectly linked the Hi-octane race footage with the subdued atmosphere of the cancer treatment process.

DAYSUN is a longtime studio owner and former bandleader. As a producer he has worked with Noah “40” Shebib (Drake) and produced many other artist’s projects.
